"Daher werden wir mit unterschiedlichsten Interessengruppen zusammenarbeiten, um alternative Lösungen zu entwickeln", kündigte Condon an. So will Bayer das Gespräch mit Landwirten, Regierungen, Unternehmen, aber auch NGOs suchen.
Bayer will auch nationale Alleingänge akzeptieren
In der EU ist Glyphosat bis Ende 2022 zugelassen. Bayer bemüht sich um eine Verlängerung, ist jetzt aber offensichtlich bereit, auch nationale Alleingänge zu akzeptieren. Der Konzern, der im vergangenen Jahr den US-Glyphosathersteller Monsanto übernommen hatte, will "die unterschiedlichen Bedürfnisse der Mitgliedstaaten anerkennen und einen angemessenen Vorschlag zu sinnvollen Einsatzgebieten unterbreiten", sagte Condon.
Mit Blick auf die Klagewelle in den USA betonte Condon jedoch erneut, Bayer sei "unverändert überzeugt von der Sicherheit und Effektivität dieser Produkte". pm, ots
