Rezo wurde bundesweit bekannt, als er im Mai auf YouTube ein Video mit dem Titel "Die Zerstörung der CDU" veröffentlichte. Es wurde seitdem 16 Millionen Mal aufgerufen. Auf die Frage, welcher Politiker ihn um Verzeihung bitten müsse, antwortet Rezo: "Jeder weiß, dass eine Reihe von CDUlern über mich persönlich oder über meine Generation Lügen und Verschwörungstheorien verbreitet hat. Und klar, wenn Politiker solche Propagandatechniken direkt gegen die eigene Bevölkerung einsetzen, um diese zu diskreditieren, müssten sich die Politiker dafür entschuldigen.
