English version

The coaches in German professional football are not satisfied with their role in decisions made by the German Football Association (DFB) and the German Football League (DFL). Friedhelm Funkel emphasized this in an interview with the "Rheinische Post", which appears in Düsseldorf.

"At the last trainers' conference, we once again noticed that we have far too little say. Together with our teams we have to take the rap for everything, but are not asked before", said the coach of Fortuna Düsseldorf and announced: "That's why we want to demand via the Bund Deutscher Fußball-Lehrer (BDFL) that some coaches are present at manager conferences with the association or league. So that we are heard at least once in the decision-making process".

As current example Funkel quoted the again introduced rule, after which also coaches can get yellow maps and with the fourth warning for a play are closed. "This is such a silly rule.  We are totally ignored with the most important sporty questions and rule changes. Everyone is asked, but we are not. We won't let that happen again. We want to have our say. The coaches belong also in the boat. That's a clear and realistic demand."

An official application of the coach association is prepare

The plan is now to prepare an official BDFL proposal by the next trainer conference in March, which will then be discussed and possibly approved. At the last meeting in Mönchengladbach in October, Thomas Schaaf and Dieter Hecking, among others, who hold positions at the BDFL, were also present. pm, ots, mei
