Seit Sommer hat die GSG9 einen zweiten, noch provisorischen Standort in Berlin. Dabei werden die Kräfte wochenweise vom Hauptquartier in St. Augustin entsendet.
Die für Berlin vorgesehene vierte Einheit der GSG9 soll im Schwerpunkt für Einsätze mit nuklearen, biologischen und chemischen Kampfstoffen trainieren. Die Eliteeinheit der Bundespolizei wird dafür um ein Drittel aufgestockt. Zur GSG9 gehören aktuell rund 400 Männer. Ein Kamerateam des rbb hat die GSG9 im Sommer dieses Jahres begleitet und mit der Spezialeinheit in St. Augustin, Berlin und Israel gedreht. pm, ots

The GSG9 wants to station a unit in the capital in the course of the coming year. The fourth GSG9 unit planned for Berlin will focus on training for operations with nuclear, biological and chemical warfare agents. The elite unit of the Federal Police will be increased by a third.
