 Keine Verhandlungen beim Koalitionsvertrag

The Association of Family Entrepreneurs prefers a quick end to the grand coalition to another hanging party in Berlin. "It is high time for the SPD to wake up and finally decide with a view to the Groko: Get in the potatoes or get out," said Reinhold von Eben-Worlée, President of the Association of Family Entrepreneurs, of Eben-Worlée, the Düsseldorf "Rheinische Post". The SPD still bears responsibility for Germany as a whole and not only for its functionaries.

"A Groko is only needed for the larger tasks, otherwise it only strengthens the political margins even more," von Eben-Worlée said. "For half a year, the SPD revolved around itself and gave way to stagnation. But in six months the world has changed noticeably, our companies with hundreds of thousands of jobs are under considerable pressure," von Eben-Worlée said. The international competitiveness of the German economy must not slip any further.

 No negotiations on coalition agreement

Meanwhile, following the decision of the SPD base for a new party leadership, the CSU in the Bundestag has appealed to the Social Democrats to remain in government. At the same time, it decisively rejected SPD demands to renegotiate the coalition agreement. "We stand by this grand coalition and want to continue the government's cooperation with the SPD," CSU state group leader Alexander Dobrindt told the Berlin newspaper "Tagesspiegel". The parliamentary director of the CSU state group in the Bundestag, Stefan Müller, criticized the outcome of the vote. "For me, the decision of the SPD members is no reason to be happy", he told the "Tagesspiegel".

Party to meet behind Borjans and Esken

After the victory of Saskia Esken and Norbert Walter-Borjans in the member survey, left-wing SPD member of parliament Hilde Mattheis called for support of the new leadership team. "Before the federal party conference on the weekend we have no parliamentary group meeting. After that the important decisions have been made. I expect that everyone will then gather behind the new leadership team," said Mattheis, who is also chairman of the left-wing SPD association Demokratische Linke 21 (DL 21), to the Berlin-based daily "neues deutschland". On the question of whether the DL 21 would propose at the party conference that the SPD leave the Grand Coalition immediately, Mattheis said: "We will certainly speak out in this direction. But first we will wait and see what the proposal will look like, which contains the interim results of the Grand Coalition. She said it was clear to her that the SPD would have to leave the Grand Coalition. "Otherwise the SPD will not be able to renew itself", Mattheis said. pm, ots, mei
