Trump sei an die Macht gekommen, "weil er exakt in vier von Deindustrialisierung betroffenen Schlüsselstaaten das Wahlvolk hinter sich gebracht hat: Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin und Ohio. Die weiße Arbeiterklasse hat dort für Trump gestimmt. Sie wusste, dass mit Hillary Clinton die Trans-Pazifik-Partnerschaft (TPP) kommen würde und mit Trump nicht. Frauen- und Umweltbewegung als Hoffnungsträger
Bello sieht Kräfte, die dem Aufstieg der Rechten entgegenwirken können: "Die Frauenbewegung und die Umweltbewegung sind da in erster Linie zu nennen. Die Frauenbewegung kann womöglich am ehesten den rechten Aufschwung stoppen, sie ist derzeit sehr dynamisch", sagte der philippinische Globalisierungskritiker, der eine neue linke Erzählung anmahnt: "Die Menschen bei den Emotionen zu packen, darin war und ist die äußere Rechte zuletzt leider oft erfolgreicher gewesen.
