In der besonders gebeutelten Autobranche stieg der Index von minus 23,0 auf plus 3,7, bei Metallerzeugnissen von minus 22,7 auf minus 11,4, in der Metallerzeugung und -bearbeitung von minus 36,3 auf minus 21,4 Punkte, im Maschinenbau von minus 12,7 auf minus 5,4, bei den Herstellern von elektrischen Ausrüstungen von minus 13,3 auf minus 6,5 und in der Chemie sogar von plus 7,8 auf plus 11,3 Punkte. A thin silver lining has appeared on the dark horizon of German industry. According to the Ifo Institute, companies expect a slight increase in production over the next three months. The index of production expectations rose from minus 5.3 to plus 2.3 points in January.
