Aber ich habe ja auch mal mit Maske gespielt, und das hat mich derart behindert, dass ich davon absehe - auch wenn das natürlich eine Gewöhnungssache ist", sagte Kramer der Düsseldorfer "Rheinischen Post".
Der Mittelfeldspieler hatte sich in Leipzig bei einem Zusammenprall mit Nationalspieler Timo Werner eine leichte Gehirnerschütterung zugezogen. Es war nicht seine erste Kopfverletzung. Vor allem sein K.o. im Finale der Weltmeisterschaft 2014 gegen Argentinien sorgte für Aufsehen. Der 28-Jährige spielte zunächst weiter und konnte sich später nicht mehr an das Endspiel erinnern. 2017 verletzte sich Kramer gleich dreimal am Kopf.
Kramer geht es nicht um Eitelkeit
"Es geht mir gar nicht um Eitelkeit, das muss klar sein. Ich nehme das Thema sehr ernst, ohne es übermäßig zu dramatisieren. Aber ich will nicht mit Helm spielen. Und ich werde auch weiter ohne Angst spielen. Wenn ich mir darüber Gedanken machen würde, dass ich mich ohne Helm verletzen könnte und dann vielleicht nicht in einen Zweikampf gehe, könnte ich auch gleich aufhören", sagte Kramer.
