Die rund 7000 Mitarbeiter im Werk und den angrenzenden Bereichen werden ab Mittwoch nicht mehr an die Bänder und die anderen Arbeitsplätze zurückkehren. In Saarlouis, wo der Focus gebaut wird, müssen rund 5000 Ford-Mitarbeiter die Arbeit niederlegen. Bereits am Montag wurde der Fahrzeugbau von einem Zwei- auf einen Einschicht-Betrieb runtergefahren. Ebenfalls am Montag war bereits das Werk im spanischen Valencia wegen Covid-19-Infektionen unter der Belegschaft geschlossen worden.
Großteil der Mitarbeiter ins Homeoffice geschickt
Am Standort, wo die größeren Modelle Mondeo, S-Max und Galaxy gebaut werden, arbeiten 7000 Mitarbeiter. Im rumänischen Craiova, wo unter anderem der Ford EcoSport produziert wird, wird ebenfalls nicht mehr gearbeitet. Ford hatte bereits vor einige Tagen einen Großteil seiner Mitarbeiter ins Home-Office geschickt. Nach Unternehmensangaben arbeiten bereits rund 10 000 Menschen in Deutschland von zu Hause.
