Nach Kenntnis der Bundesregierung sei der Labornachweis für das Coronavirus für die Definition und Zählung bestätigter Infektionsfälle erforderlich. Zwischenzeitlich hätten aber nur solche Fälle in China mit entsprechender klinischer Symptomatik und radiologischen Auffälligkeiten als bestätigter Fall gegolten. "Unter Berücksichtigung der zwischenzeitlichen Lage ist die Anpassung der Falldefinition während der Epidemie in China nachvollziehbar", schreibt das Gesundheitsministerium
Corona-Fälle nicht genau definiert
China hatte zu Beginn der Epidemie bis Mitte Februar eine weniger genaue Definition für bestätigte Corona-Fälle verwendet. Erst als die Volksrepublik die Definition nachschärfte, kam es zu einem sprunghaften Anstieg der Zahl der bestätigten Infektionsfälle in China. Corona cases not precisely defined
