English version

After weeks of discussions and debates about the unpopular ghost games, last weekend everyone could finally get a real picture of the Bundesliga without spectators. For this purpose, the voting app FanQ conducted a survey. What was immediately noticeable was the predominantly positive response to the first full matchday in front of empty stands. 66.2% see the re-start so far as a success, another 20.7% only partially and only 9.4% consider the re-start a failure.

After the first implementation of the DFL health concept in practice, 45.0% rate the guidelines for ghost games as 'good' to 'very good'. 31.4% find the guidelines 'okay' and again 23.6% consider them 'bad' to 'very bad'. The quality of the games, which were supposed to suffer under the given conditions and the short preparation time, was also perceived as predominantly positive. 38.6% rated the playing quality as 'OK', 41.6% as 'good' and 7.9% even as 'very good'. Only 9.9% found the level of play 'poor' and 2.0% 'very poor'.

Increased switching capacity pleases fans

When asked about their first impression of the new, increased switching capacity, 59.0% replied that they liked it. 27.8% are still unsure and 9.8% did not like it at all.

Sky Deutschland registered new record attendance figures on Saturday for the free-to-air conference. FanQ interviewed the fans about the classification and an outlook. According to the survey, 47.8% predict that interest in the Bundesliga will remain consistently high due to its overall social value. 22.4% think that this one matchday was only a snapshot. Furthermore, 27.6% say 'Perhaps as long as the Bundesliga remains unrivalled in live sport'.

Ghost games take some getting used to

Despite the positive feedback on the first day of the ghost game, the majority of the fans still find it hard to get used to. 45.1% are firmly against it, 24.4% are still unsure and 24.7% say, 'ghost games can also be watched very well'.

"Our new survey shows that the fans were also able to draw positive conclusions from the first day of the Ghost Games, even though the 'normal' Bundesliga is very much missed by most. The figures also show that there are still opponents or critics of the re-start," said FanQ founder Joachim Lammert.
