Die Industrie schneidet Investitionen in besonders großem Umfange zurück. 64 Prozent verschoben im Mai Projekte, 56 Prozent berichteten davon im April. Ganz gestrichen wurden sie bei 32 Prozent der Firmen im Mai und bei 25 Prozent im April.
Die Dienstleister waren etwas zurückhaltender: 45 Prozent verschoben laut Mai-Umfrage Projekte. Im April berichteten 44 Prozent von Verschiebungen. 28 Prozent der Firmen sagten im Mai, sie hätten Investitionen sogar ganz gestrichen. Im April waren es 22 Prozent.

The corona crisis has drastic consequences for corporate investments in Germany. 50 percent of the companies reported to the Ifo Institute in the May economic survey that they had postponed investments; in April, 46 percent said they had. 28 percent of the companies had even completely cancelled investment projects in May, compared to 22 percent in April.
