English version

Germany's largest tourism group Tui considers the travel warning issued for the whole of Mallorca to be wrong. This was said by Thomas Ellerbeck, the group's manager responsible for politics and communication, to the Düsseldorf-based "Rheinische Post".

"We regret that Germany has now issued a travel warning for the whole of Mallorca. A regional travel warning for Palma, Magaluf or other places with increased cases would have been better," he said.

He adds: "Most holidaymakers are very responsible and stick to the rules." The blanket warning is also questionable because large parts of the island are only minimally affected by the pandemic. There has not been an incident at any Tui hotel in Mallorca. The company and also the German Travel Association (DRV) said they hoped the travel warning would end soon. pm, ots, mei
