Die von der ARD erworbenen Lizenzen umfassen im TV die "Sportschau" mit der Fußball-Bundesliga am Samstag, die Verwertung aller Bundesliga-Spiele des Wochenendes am Sonntagabend sowie neu die Berichterstattung über die Spiele der 2. Bundesliga am Freitagabend und am Sonntag. Darüber hinaus wurde erneut die Berichterstattung für die beliebteste Bundesliga-Sendung im Hörfunk, die ARD-Bundesligakonferenz, gesichert. Ab 2021/22 kann diese zusätzlich zum klassischen Radio auch auf den digitalen Verbreitungswegen genutzt werden. Zum ersten Mal wurden von der ARD außerdem umfassende Clip-Rechte für die Online-Nutzung von Bundesliga-Bildern erworben.
