English version

World Medical President Frank Ulrich Montgomery expects that it will take years to vaccinate the population against coronavirus.

"Vaccination is not a panacea. The World Health Organisation expects a vaccine in mid 2021, but it will take two or three years to vaccinate the entire population," Montgomery told the Düsseldorf-based "Rheinische Post" newspaper. Because: "There are neither enough doses nor enough staff to vaccinate everyone at once.

According to Montgomery, this means: "We will have to live with and deal with the virus for years to come: Keep your distance, wash your hands, wear masks." So there will be no normal summer holiday in 2021 either: "The virus will remain an issue for years to come. In 2021 we will not have a summer holiday like before either. Even tourists will have to live with the virus". pm, ots, mei
