Der Torpedo DM2 A4 ist die Hauptbewaffnung der deutschen U-Boote der Klasse U212A.
Mit dem Vertragsschluss werde die Elektronik aller Torpedos DM2 A4 auf den neuesten Technologiestand umgerüstet, analoge Baugruppen ersetzt. Zugleich würden die Torpedosystem-Tester und das Torpedosonarprüfgerät erneuert. Durch den Umstieg auf digitale Datenverarbeitung sollten auch die Basis für zukünftige Leistungsver-besserungen gelegt und die Torpedos technologisch für die Nutzung auf zukünftigen U-Boot-Klassen vorbereitet werden. pm, ots

The Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Utilisation of the German Armed Forces (BAAINBw) has now concluded a contract for the elimination of obsolescence in the sonar and electronics section of the DM2 A4 torpedo. The Torpedo DM2 A4 is the main armament of the German submarines of the U212A class.
With the conclusion of the contract, the electronics of all DM2 A4 torpedoes will be upgraded to the latest technological standards and analogue components will be replaced. At the same time, the torpedo system testers and the torpedo sonar tester will be renewed.
