Wer auf ausgelutschte Redewendungen steht, der wird seine Freude an dieser Formulierung haben: Beim Deutschen Fußball-Bund brennt kurz vor Weihnachten der Baum. Dabei ist die Personalie Löw sogar nur ein Randaspekt. Beim DFB tobt ein Machtkampf, in dem sich der als Heilsbringer auserkorene Präsident Fritz Keller aufreibt. Die ständigen Indiskretionen rund um die Nationalmannschaft zeugen vom internen Zwist. Zu wiederholten Mal machte Löw in seinen Äußerungen klar, was ihn noch antreibt. Er will auf Biegen und Brechen das Kunststück von 2010 wiederholen, als er beim Turnier in Südafrika aus dem sportlichen Nichts eine Mannschaft erschuf, die die Fußballwelt entzückte und nach einem Reifeprozess vier Jahre später bei der WM in Brasilien triumphierte.
Zweifel an dem Kurs von Löw
Doch wachsen allenthalben die Zweifel an diesem Zurück-in-die-Zukunft-Kurs. Mit der ewigen Causa Müller-Hummels-Boateng hat sich Löw eine Hypothek aufgeladen, die er partout nicht mehr los wird. Die Resultate und Leistungen, um diese Debatte aus der Welt zu schaffen, fehlen schlicht. Da jedoch kurzfristig keine Alternativen verfügbar sind, wird Löw zumindest bis zur EM im kommenden Jahr die DFB-Elf anleiten. Dann wird abgerechnet. Löw ist ein verdienter Bundestrainer auf Abruf.
