Wie das Amtsgericht Schöneberg (Grundbuchamt) dem Tagesspiegel auf Anfrage bestätigt habe, sei der heutige Alleingeschäftsführer der Gematik GmbH Markus Leyck Dieken vor Spahn Eigentümer von dessen Wohnung im Berliner Bezirk Schöneberg.
Leyck Dieken habe die Wohnung ausweislich der Unterlagen für 980.000 Euro an Spahn verkauft. Dieser sei im Grundbuch seit Anfang Januar 2018 als Eigentümer eingetragen. Das Gesundheitsministerium habe mitgeteilt, dass sich beide zwar "seit vielen Jahren persönlich kennen". Sowohl Spahn wie Leyck Dieken hätten jedoch zurückgewiesen, dass Wohnungskauf oder persönliche Kontakte bei der Besetzung des Spitzenpostens eine Rolle gespielt hätten.

Last year, Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) appointed a former pharmaceutical manager and lobbyist as chief digitalizer in the healthcare sector, with whom he had a long-standing personal acquaintance as well as a joint real estate business.
As the Schöneberg Local Court (land registry) confirmed to the Tagesspiegel upon request, the current sole managing director of Gematik GmbH Markus Leyck Dieken was the owner of Spahn's apartment in the Berlin district of Schöneberg before Spahn. Leyck Dieken had sold the dwelling according to the documents for 980,000 euro to Spahn. The latter has been registered as the owner in the land register since the beginning of January 2018. The Ministry of Health had said that the two had "known each other personally for many years".
