Bereits am ersten Wochenende des Jahres 2021 (2./3. Januar) steht der erste Spieltag der Bundesliga im neuen Jahr auf dem Programm. Der Pay-TV-Sender Sky überträgt am Samstag und Sonntag insgesamt acht Partien des 14. Bundesliga-Spieltags. Am Samstag ab 14 Uhr begrüßen Moderatorin Esther Sedlaczek und Sky-Experte Didi Hamann die Zuschauer und stimmen auf die Spiele des Nachmittags ein. Unter anderem treffen dann Eintracht Frankfurt auf Bayer Leverkusen, Arminia Bielefeld auf Borussia Mönchengladbach und Werder Bremen auf Union Berlin.
Schalke 04 ist in Berlin zu Gast
Im Anschluss daran stehen sich Hertha BSC und der FC Schalke 04 gegenüber. Für die Königsblauen ist es nicht nur der Auftakt in das neue Jahr, sondern zugleich der Neuanfang unter dem neuen Trainer Christian Gross. Nach mittlerweile 29 Bundesliga-Partien ohne Sieg und nur vier Punkten nach 13 Spieltagen ist es für die Schalker wohl auch die letzte Chance, doch noch die Wende in Richtung Klassenerhalt zu schaffen.
