The Corona vaccine from the US pharmaceutical company Moderna has received conditional approval from the European Medicines Agency (EMA). According to the EMA, the vaccine is to be approved for people aged 18 and over.
This is the second Covid 19 vaccine on the market, following the approval of the Pfizer and Biontech vaccines. The first Moderna vaccine doses are expected to arrive in Germany next week, according to Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU). The vaccine has already been approved in the USA, Canada and Israel. On the EU side, 160 million vaccine doses have been ordered.
