"Ich fürchte, dass es zunächst kaum Lockerungen geben kann, weil das selbst unsere Zahlen in Niedersachsen noch nicht hergeben", sagte der CDU-Politiker im Interview mit der "Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ) und fügte hinzu: "Solange wir landesweit nicht deutlich unter einer Sieben-Tage-Inzidenz von 25 sind, müssen wir weiterhin sehr aufpassen."
Die bisherigen Maßnahmen wirkten zwar, "aber nur sehr langsam", gab der stellvertretende Ministerpräsident zu bedenken und schloss zusätzliche Corona-Vorgaben nicht aus: "Wenn wir jetzt das mutierte Virus nicht in den Griff bekommen, ist immer damit zu rechnen, dass wir Rückschläge erleiden. Die derzeitigen Maßnahmen sind schon hart und womöglich ausreichend - jedenfalls zunächst einmal. Aber noch einmal: Was mir wirklich große Sorgen bereitet, ist die Verbreitung der mutierten Virusvarianten."
Kritik am Impfmanagement
Überdies übte der Vize-Regierungschef deutliche Kritik an dem vom SPD-geführten Gesundheitsministerium organisierten Impfmanagement des Landes. Auch seine eigene 81-jährige Mutter sei an der Impf-Hotline gescheitert. "Das müssen wir altersgerechter vorbereiten. Gerade ältere Menschen müssen sich sicher und mitgenommen fühlen", zog der CDU-Politiker das System, das über 80-Jährige zur Terminvereinbarung nutzen sollen, in Zweifel. Womöglich sei auch der Personaleinsatz an der Hotline anfänglich nicht richtig kalkuliert worden und habe das Land auf den falschen Dienstleister gesetzt.
Impftermin-Vergabe mit Eventim
Mit Blick auf das Nachbarland Schleswig-Holstein, das bei der Impftermin-Vergabe mit dem Ticketing- und Konzertvermarkter Eventim zusammenarbeitet, sagte Althusmann: "Bei Eventim handelt es sich um einen Dienstleister, der Kartenverkäufe für Großkonzerte mit 100.000 Tickets innerhalb von Stunden abwickeln kann. Das müssten wir in Niedersachsen auch hinbekommen."
Vertrauen in die Corona-Politik nicht verlieren
Jetzt gelte es, gemeinsam alles dafür zu tun, die Impfkampagne zu einem Erfolg werden zu lassen. "Wenn uns das nicht gelingt, verlieren wir Vertrauen in die Corona-Politik von Bund und Ländern.
