Das Mittel von Astra-Zeneca ist der dritte zugelassene Impfstoff gegen das Coronavirus. In Tests wies es eine geringere Wirksamkeit als die Mittel von Biontech/Pfizer und Moderna auf. Sachsen-Anhalts Gesundheitsministerin Petra Grimm-Benne (SPD) appellierte an Gesundheitspersonal und Impfberechtigte im Land, angebotene Impfungen in Anspruch zu nehmen. Alle drei Impfstoffe bieten der Ministerin zufolge einen wirksamen Schutz vor einem schweren oder tödlichen Krankheitsverlauf nach einer Covid-19-Infektion. Mit dem Astra-Zeneca-Impfstoff sollen Sachsen-Anhalts Impfzentren zunehmend "auch Impftermine für unter 65-Jährige in der Gruppe 2 mit hoher Priorität anbieten", erklärte das Ministerium.
Menschen lehnen Impfung mit Astrazeneca-Impfstoff ab
In Köln haben zahlreiche Menschen die Impfung mit dem Präparat von Astrazeneca abgelehnt. "Aktuell haben wir rund 5400 Impfdosen von Astrazeneca übrig", berichtete der Chef der Kölner Berufsfeuerwehr und Mitglied des Krisenstabs, Christian Miller, dem "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger". Menschen stornierten ihren Termin, weil ihnen keine Alternative zu Astrazeneca angeboten werde. "Da wollen sie lieber keinen Termin haben. Die Stimmung kippt aktuell, das macht uns große Sorge", sagte Miller. Die Präparate würden deshalb vom Gesundheitsministerium nicht abgerufen und befänden sich immer noch im Depot. Miller nannte es einen "Skandal, dass man weiß, dass in anderen Prioritätsgruppen Menschen händeringend darauf warten, geimpft zu werden, und in der bevorrechtigten Gruppe die Impfbereitschaft nicht da ist". Organisatorisch wird es immer schwerer, die Überkapazitäten abzubauen.
Image schlägt sich auf Impfbereitschaft nieder
Das Image der Astrazeneca-Impfstoffs schlage sich direkt auf die Impfbereitschaft nieder. Nach dem ersten Hype am 10. Februar habe es eine deutliche Abnahme gegeben. Der Feuerwehrchef berichtet: "Die Kolleginnen und Kollegen im Callcenter, die mit den Impfberechtigten am Telefon sprechen, berichten, dass bei der Terminvergabe oftmals zunächst die Frage gestellt wird, welcher Impfstoff denn zur Verfügung stehe. Wenn dann der Name Astrazeneca fällt, wird sofort diskutiert und gesagt, man wolle unbedingt Biontech/Pfizer haben.
