Schon bei der Landtagswahl in Sachsen-Anhalt am 6. Juni werde die CDU "mit dramatischen Verlusten dafür bezahlen müssen". Die CDU im Osten befürchte "völlig zu Recht, dass sie mit Laschet und seinem laxen Stil, seiner fehlenden Ausstrahlung und Autorität erhebliche Wähleranteile an die Rechtspopulisten verliert", sagte der Redakteur der "Blätter für deutsche und internationale Politik".
AfD kommt wieder in der Offensive
"Das wird die AfD auch bundesweit wieder in die Offensive bringen." Söder hätte die "Sogwirkung ins rechte Spektrum gestoppt und das Ausbluten der Volkspartei Union verhindern können", sagte von Lucke. "Dass die CDU-Führung diese große Chance nicht genutzt hat, ist ein großes Versagen und beschädigt die Demokratie insgesamt."
Union landen unter 30 Prozent
Auch die Aussicht auf eine klare schwarz-grüne Mehrheit habe die Union "durch das Festhalten an Laschet vertan", sagte von Lucke. "CDU und CSU dürften nun unter 30 Prozent landen. Dadurch ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass für eine erforderliche Regierungsmehrheit ein Dreierbündnis gebraucht werden wird, erheblich gestiegen.
