Während im Gastgewerbe und der Tourismusbranche weiter Jobs verloren gehen, bauen IT-Dienstleister sowie Architektur- und Ingenieurbüros Mitarbeiter auf. German companies are looking for new staff. The Ifo Employment Barometer rose to 98.3 points in April from 97.6 points in March.
The labour market is slowly making up for parts of the job losses from the Corona crisis. The boom in industry is also increasingly reflected in the hiring behaviour of companies. Especially firms in the mechanical engineering sector want to employ more people.
In the service sector, on the other hand, the willingness to hire has remained unchanged at a low level. While jobs continue to be lost in the hospitality and tourism industries, IT service providers as well as architecture and engineering firms are adding staff.
