Jene seien Teil jeder funktionierenden Demokratie. Reemtsma betonte: "Niemand will eine Ökodiktatur. Wir auch nicht." pm, ots

English version

The climate protection efforts of the established parties are not enough for the Fridays for Future movement - not even those of the Greens.

In an interview with the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ), spokesperson Carla Reemtsma said: "The fact that even the largest Green Party in the world has no plan to comply with the 1.5 degree limit is devastating." To meet the goals of the Paris climate agreement, Germany must be climate neutral by 2035, she said. "The Greens present neither a climate target nor measures sufficient to achieve this," Reemtsma said.

Large demonstrations announced by FFF movement

She announced in the "NOZ" that the FFF movement will accompany the election campaign and the subsequent coalition negotiations with large-scale demonstrations. She also said that the school strike on Friday as a form of protest should be resumed where Corona numbers are falling. Reemtsma said, "The urgency of the climate crisis requires consistent action as much as massive protest." In this context, he said, no one should be afraid of regulations or bans that serve climate protection. These are part of every functioning democracy. Reemtsma emphasised: "Nobody wants an eco-dictatorship. Neither do we." pm, ots, mei
