Der Bundestrainer über die Verwirrung zum Abschluss-Training im Wembley-Stadion, dass die Uefa zunächst untersagt, dann wieder zugelassen habe: "Als wir letzte Woche geplant haben, ins Wembley-Stadion zu gehen, hieß es: nein. Das Stadion ist gesperrt, weil der Rasen in Mitleidenschaft gezogen ist. Da haben wir geplant, dass wir später am Nachmittag fliegen und so weiter. Dann kam am Samstag oder Sonntag Spätabends die Meldung: wir könnten doch wieder gehen. Dann wollten wir doch nicht wieder unsere Planung über den Haufen werfen. Hätten wir ein bisschen früher das ok gehabt, wären wir gegangen."
"Man muss Vorsicht walten lassen"
Löw über die angeschlagenen Ilkay Gündogan und Antonio Rüdiger beim Abschlusstraining in Herzogenaurach: "Ilkay war nicht vollumfänglich dabei. Er hat ja schon noch eine Gehirnprellung, auf einer Seite zumindest. Man muss da schon auch Vorsicht walten lassen. Antonio Rüdiger hatte einen grippalen Infekt. Zumindest konnte er das Abschlusstraining durchstehen. Wenn jetzt bis morgen hin nichts passiert, dann sollte er einsatzfähig sein."
Engländer sind bei Standards brandgefährlich
Löw freut sich auf das Achtelfinale gegen England: "Das sind meine Highlights in meiner Trainerkarriere." Über die Stärken der Engländer sagt der Bundestrainer: "Seit drei, vier Jahren sieht man bei den Engländern auch mehr und mehr Qualität. Sie sind wieder in der Weltspitze auf jeden Fall. Defensiv stehen sie extrem stabil. Und sie haben nach vorne hin Spieler, die extrem schnell sind. Sie sind mit hohem Tempo unterwegs, das macht sie extrem gefährlich. Sie sind bei Standards brandgefährlich."

If nothing happens between now and tomorrow, he should be fit for action."
England are a fire hazard when it comes to standards
Löw is looking forward to the round of 16 against England: "Those are my highlights in my coaching career." On England's strengths, the national coach says: "For the last three or four years, you've been seeing more and more quality from the English. They are definitely back among the world's best. Defensively, they are extremely stable. And they have players who are extremely fast up front. They move at high speed, which makes them extremely dangerous. They are red-hot when it comes to standards."
