Die Politikwissenschaftlerin und Direktorin der Politischen Akademie Tutzing, Ursula Münch, rechnet mit einem neuen Richtungsstreit in der Union, wenn sie die Bundestagswahl verliert.
"Wenn die Wahl verloren geht, werden die Konflikte in der Union noch stärker aufbrechen", sagte Münch der "Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ). Sie gehe davon aus, dass die Fragen, wie es die Union künftig mit der AfD halten will und wie sie künftig Rechte und Konservative einbinden will, die Partei beschäftigen werden. Münch ist überzeugt, dass die Union ihr Potenzial als Volkspartei mit breitem Spektrum von linksliberalen bis hin zu rechten Positionen derzeit nicht ausschöpft.
CDU kann im rechten Spektrum noch Wähler gewinnen
"Die Union wird ihr Heil an der Wahlurne sicherlich nicht mit Maaßens Positionen finden", erklärte Münch. Gleichzeitig sei es aus ihrer Sicht aber "Unfug, sich gegen rechte Positionen abzugrenzen". "Gegen Rechtsextreme muss sie sich abgrenzen. Aber rechte Positionen muss die Union als konservative Partei natürlich integrieren können", meint Münch. Sie sieht zwischen AfD und Union noch ein Feld, das die Union für sich gewinnen könne und nicht etwa den Freien Wählern überlassen dürfe.
Armin Laschet ist unpräzise
Kanzlerkandidat Armin Laschet ist aus ihrer Sicht in dieser Frage "unpräzise". Münch hält eine stärkere Rückbesinnung der Union auf den Charakter der Volkspartei für notwendig. Aus ihrer Sicht geht der Union derzeit die Wählerschaft links der Mitte - viele Frauen, urbanes Publikum -, die Merkel für die Partei gewinnen konnte, wieder verloren. Merkel habe es über viele Jahre geschafft, diese neuen Wähler zu gewinnen, ohne die Stammwähler der Union in großer Zahl zu verprellen. pm, ots

Armin Laschet is imprecise
In her view, the candidate for chancellor, Armin Laschet, is "imprecise" on this issue. Münch believes that the CDU/CSU needs to return more strongly to its character as a people's party. In her view, the Union is currently losing the voters to the left of centre - many women, the urban public - whom Merkel was able to win for the party.
