Die Übersetzungwebsite Deepl.com ist innerhalb eines Jahres deutlich gewachsen. "Wir haben die 200-Mitarbeiter-Marke geknackt", sagt DeepL-Geschäftsführer Jaroslaw Kutylowski im Gespräch mit dem "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger".
Im vergangenen Jahr waren es noch weniger als halb so viele Beschäftigte. DeepL gehört zu den Top-100-Websites weltweit (Quelle: Similarweb). DeepL hat täglich Millionen Nutzer und bietet automatische Übersetzungen. In Vergleichstest übertrifft DeepL regelmäßig große Tech-Konzerne wir Google bei der Übersetzungsqualität. Kutylowski ist überzeugt davon, den Vorsprung halten zu können. "Wir haben uns jetzt über vier Jahre gut gehalten und arbeiten weiter hart daran, dass das so bleibt", sagt Kutylowski. Das Kölner Unternehmen wurde 2017 gegründet und gilt mittllerweile als potenzielles Einhorn, also Technologie-Unternehmen mit einem Firmenwert von mehr als einer Milliarde Dollar. Last year, there were less than half as many employees. DeepL is one of the top 100 websites worldwide (source: Similarweb). DeepL has millions of users daily and offers automatic translations. In comparative tests, DeepL regularly outperforms big tech companies like Google in translation quality. Kutylowski is convinced that he can maintain this lead. "We've been doing well for over four years now and continue to work hard to keep it that way," says Kutylowski. The Cologne-based company was founded in 2017 and is now considered a potential unicorn, i.e. a technology company with a company value of more than one billion dollars. "We are honoured that this is considered possible," says Kutylowski. Since its founding, DeepL has reported profits every year.
