Die Präsidentin des Deutschen Pflegerats, Christine Vogler, ruft vor dem Winter dazu auf, sich gegen das Coronavirus impfen zu lassen, um einen Personalnotstand in der Pflege zu verhindern.
"Mit einer Impfung kann jeder dafür sorgen, dass der Personalmangel in der Pflege nicht noch schlimmer wird, da er durch eine Impfung auch Pflegepersonal schützt, dieses nicht erkrankt und Risiken wie Long Covid ausgesetzt wird. Weltweit sind laut WHO bis Mai 2021 115.000 Pfleger an Covid-19 gestorben. Wir wollen unbedingt verhindern, dass diese Zahl weiter steigt", sagte Vogler der "Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ). Die Impfquote unter Pflegenden bezifferte sie mit 90 bis 100 Prozent in den Einrichtungen. "Die Quote liegt auf jeden Fall deutlich über der der Bevölkerung insgesamt.
