1944 stand Gross als 18-jähriger für kurze Zeit mit seinen Eltern auf der Liste von Oskar Schindler. Dennoch gelang dem Juden Gross mit seinen Eltern selbst die Flucht aus dem von Nazis besetzten Polen. Dabei sei er in nicht weniger als 72 Verstecken untergekommen.
Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg emigrierte Gross nach Israel, wo er mit seiner Frau Sandra die
Yoram Gross Films gründete. 1968 emigrierte das Paar nach Australien. Im Jahr 2006 verkaufte Gross sein Filmunternehmen an EM.TV. Mittlerweile sind Yoram Gross Films als Flying Bark Productions bekannt. Das Unternehmen produziert nach wie vor Familien-Unterhaltung.

The Google Doodle today is dedicated to Yoram Gross. The Australian film producer would have turned 95 today. Gross was born on 18 October 1926 in Krakow, Poland.
