Nach dem Start des Zulassungsverfahrens für einen Corona-Impfstoff für Kinder durch die EMA hat Kinder- und Jugendärztepräsident Thomas Fischbach die Politik vor Impfdruck auf Familien gewarnt.
Er gehe zwar davon aus, dass der von Biontech entwickelte Kinderimpfstoff schon bald in der EU zugelassen werde, sagte der Präsident des Berufsverbandes der Kinder- und Jugendärzte (BVKJ) im Gespräch mit der "Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ). "Wir als Verband raten aber dringend, anschließend die Empfehlung der Ständigen Impfkommission (Stiko) abzuwarten." Die Europäische Arzneimittelbehörde EMA hatte das Zulassungsverfahren für einen Impfstoff für Kinder ab fünf Jahren gestartet, bislang ist das Vakzin ab zwölf Jahren zugelassen.

Spahn soll sich zurückhalten
Dass Gesundheitsminister Jens Spahn (CDU) und andere Politiker im Sommer schon Impfungen von Kindern ab zwölf eingefordert hatten, bevor Mediziner und Wissenschaftler dazu rieten, sei "übergriffig und kontraproduktiv" gewesen und habe viel Verwirrung bei Patienten und in Familien sowie Arztpraxen verursacht, kritisierte Fischbach in der NOZ. Relevante Anzahl von Long-Covid-Fällen
Grundsätzlich sei es durchaus positiv, dass ein verträglicher und wirksamer Impfstoff für kleinere Kinder in Aussicht stehe. So gebe es trotz überwiegend milder Verläufe doch eine relevante Anzahl von Long-Covid-Fällen auch in der Altersgruppe, das Phänomen trete "sicher häufiger auf, als behauptet wird", so Fischbach. Dennoch müsse genau geklärt werden, für wen ein Kinderimpfstoff wirklich sinnvoll eingesetzt werden könne.
