Angesichts kontinuierlich steigender Zahlen sogenannter Impfdurchbrüche warnt die Linksfraktion im Bundestag, Bund und Länder dürften im kommenden Winter "nicht wieder die Kontrolle über die Pandemie verlieren".
Laut Robert-Koch-Institut (RKI) liege inzwischen bei fast jedem dritten Corona-Patienten im Krankenhaus ein Impfdurchbruch vor, sagte Fraktionschef Dietmar Bartsch der "Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ). Ein Impfdurchbruch liegt nach Definition des RKI vor, wenn bei einer vollständig geimpften Person mittels PCR-Test "eine SARS-CoV-2-Infektion mit Symptomatik festgestellt" wird. Der Anteil solcher Impfdurchbrüche an der Gesamtzahl der Covid-19-Fälle steigt seit Monaten. Zuletzt gab es fünfmal hintereinander einen Anstieg um jeweils etwa drei Prozentpunkte pro Woche, wie die Linksfraktion nach Auswertung der aktuellen RKI-Statistiken betont, in denen jeweils Vier-Wochen-Zeiträume betrachtet werden.
Impfdurchbrüche liegen bei rund 37 Prozent
Der Anteil der Impfdurchbrüche an allen Covid-Fällen lag demnach in der Zeit von 27. September bis 24. Oktober bei 36,66 Prozent. Im Vergleich zur Jahresmitte bedeutet das einen Anstieg um das 2,5-Fache: Im Zeitraum 19. Juli bis 9. August lag der Anteil noch bei 14,7 Prozent. Die Quote der Impfdurchbrüche bei den hospitalisierten Covid-Fällen vervierfachte sich im selben Zeitraum von 8,07 auf 32,18 Prozent. Bei den Covid-Patienten auf Intensivstationen stieg der Anteil noch deutlicher von 5,5 auf 24,93 Prozent.
Drittimpfungen müssen für Risikogruppen kommen
Bartsch beklagte zugleich den aktuellen Rekordwert an Neuinfektionen und forderte: "Die Drittimpfungen müssen für Risikogruppen endlich zügig kommen. Dafür sollten auch die Krankenkassen ins Boot geholt werden, um Versicherte anzuschreiben."
Die Co-Fraktionsvorsitzende Amira Mohamed Ali sagte NOZ: "Bezüglich der Booster-Impfung braucht es schnellstmöglich Klarheit, für wen sie sinnvoll ist, und dann auch entsprechenden Zugang dazu." Es gehe nicht, dass jetzt wieder Informations- und Verwaltungschaos die Oberhand gewönnen.
Rückkehr zu kostenlosen Tests
Mohamed Ali forderte zudem eine Rückkehr zu kostenlosen Tests für alle. Auch die Impfdurchbrüche zeigten, dass Tests weiterhin dringend erforderlich seien, "um die Bevölkerung zu schützen und dafür zu sorgen, dass die Intensivstationen nicht weiter volllaufen". According to the statistics, the share of vaccination breakthroughs in all Covid cases was 36.66 percent in the period from 27 September to 24 October. Compared to the middle of the year, this means an increase of 2.5 times: In the period from 19 July to 9 August, the share was still 14.7 percent. The vaccination breakthrough rate among hospitalised Covid cases quadrupled from 8.07 to 32.18 per cent in the same period. Among covid patients in intensive care units, the proportion increased even more significantly from 5.5 to 24.93 per cent.
Third-party vaccinations must come for risk groups
At the same time, Bartsch deplored the current record number of new infections and demanded: "Third-party vaccinations must finally come quickly for risk groups. The health insurance companies should also be brought on board to write to the insured.
Co-faction leader Amira Mohamed Ali told NOZ: "Regarding the booster vaccination, we need clarity as soon as possible for whom it makes sense, and then also appropriate access to it." She said it was not acceptable for information and administrative chaos to gain the upper hand again.
Return to free tests
Mohamed Ali also called for a return to free tests for all. The vaccination breakthroughs also showed that tests were still urgently needed "to protect the population and ensure that intensive care units do not continue to fill up". Especially in sensitive areas such as old people's homes, he said, free tests were needed immediately across the board.
