Bereits in der Silvesternacht steht mit dem ATP Cup das erste Tennis-Highlight des Jahres 2022 auf dem Programm. Die besten Tennis-Profis der Welt treten bereits zum dritten Mal bei diesem Mannschaftswettbewerb gegeneinander an.
Für Alexander Zverev ist es das erste Turnier nach seinem großen Triumph bei den ATP Finals. Der Pay-TV-Sender Sky zeigt den kompletten ATP Cup live aus Sydney auf Sky Sport 3. Beim ATP Cup gilt die aktuelle FedEx ATP Rangliste, über die sich die Nationalteams und die einzelnen Spieler für den ATP Cup qualifizieren. 16 Teams spielen zunächst in einer Gruppenphase in vier Vierergruppen gegeneinander. Gespielt werden pro Partie zwei Einzel und ein Doppel. Die Gruppensieger qualifizieren sich für das Halbfinale. Das Finale findet am 9. Januar statt.
Deutschland trifft zu erst auf Großbritannien
Deutschland wird in der Gruppenphase zunächst auf Großbritannien, USA und Kanada treffen und mit den Topspielern Alexander Zverev und Jan-Lennard Struff sowie dem Doppel Kevin Krawietz und Tim Pütz an den Start gehen. Los geht es für das deutsche Team am Sonntagmorgen gegen Großbritannien. pm, ots
