Kassenärztechef Andreas Gassen hat sich gegen eine allgemeine Impfpflicht ausgesprochen: "Besser, als jetzt ein großes, unbeherrschbares Rad zum Thema Impfpflicht und Impfregister zu drehen, wäre es, alle Anstrengungen aufs Impfen und Boostern zu richten", sagte der Vorstandsvorsitzende der Kassenärztlichen Bundesvereinigung (KBV) im Interview mit der "Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ).
Die KBV halte "die zeitnahe Erstellung eines zentralen Registers zur Vorbereitung einer möglichen Corona-Impfpflicht für unrealistisch", betonte Gassen. Der Aufbau würde "Monate, vielleicht auch Jahre dauern". Hinzu komme: "Man kann den Leuten nicht ernsthaft eine Impfpflicht auferlegen und dann feststellen, dass die Wirkung des Impfstoffes immer nur ein paar Monate hält."
Warnung an die Regierungen in Bund und Ländern
Gassen warnte die Ampel-Regierung sowie Bund und Länder daher, an ihren Plänen festzuhalten. "Solange es zu den wesentlichen Fragen keine abschließende Antwort gibt, sollte sich die Politik mit Impfpflicht-Ankündigungen bedeckt halten, sonst werden einerseits unerfüllbare Erwartungen geweckt und andererseits unnötig gesellschaftliche Konflikte geschürt", sagte der KBV-Chef.
Herdenimmunität ist nicht zu erreichen
"Wenn am Ende des Tages nicht nennenswert mehr Leute geimpft werden, bringt die Impfpflicht außer massivem Ärger, aggressiven Demonstrationen und einer Klageflut nicht viel." Die beiden wichtigsten Ziele, die man mit einer Impfpflicht erreichen wolle, also Herdenimmunität oder die Ausrottung des Virus, "sind bei Sars-Cov-2 ohnehin nicht zu erreichen", sagte Gassen der NOZ. pm, ots

"If, at the end of the day, not significantly more people are vaccinated, compulsory vaccination will not bring much except massive anger, aggressive demonstrations and a flood of lawsuits."
